2020 Summer Season Registration


Welcome to the 2020 Summer Season Registration with Bloomfield Baseball League!

Summer season starts June 21 and teams will be formed a few days prior to that. 

Please read all information on this page carefully and double check your registration before hitting submit. We rely on the information you provide to form teams and can't make any changes to teams for any reason once teams are formed.

What you need to know

  • Spring Bloomfield Baseball League teams with a coach who is returning for the summer season will remain together for the summer season -- this is a great way to extend the fun of the Spring Season!
  • We form teams by grouping kids together by grade* and Bloomfield public or private school.  We are not always able to keep all kids from one school together, but do our very best to keep you with at least a few kids from your school. Registration date is used when we aren't able to keep everyone on one team, so register early for the best chance to be grouped with your school team. Registrants may be grouped with another area school depending on numbers.  Please understand that we must create teams of the correct size and where we have coaches. Team placements are final.
  • If you attend a school outside of Bloomfield Hills and want to play with our league -- welcome!  We can't always build teams around a school outside the Bloomfield district as a number of factors drive team formation, but we will do our best to place you on a team with others who live nearer to you whenever possible.
  • Our divisions are by grade* and, in the summer, span two grades, except for Pinto Jr.  Please select the grade your player is in right now -- not the grade he or she will attend in the fall. 
  • Please consider coaching with us -- there's an opportunity to sign up to coach as part of the registration form.
  • All the information we consider for team placements is included within this form. Please do not send separate messages with requests as we are not able to incorporate them into our process.
  • Sorry, no full or partial refunds.
  • A small fee is charged for online payment processing.  If you choose to pay offline, payment by check is due immediately to hold your place.  Registration date is based on the date when your check is received. Any registrations without payment will be cancelled.  Offline payment is not available within two weeks of team formation or the session start date.

Division Information

PreK  & Kindergarten Shetland 3 p.m. Sundays & 6 p.m. Wednesdays Baseball basics are introduced. Batting off a tee, coach pitch, base running, fields and fielding. Games last approx. 60 minutes with a practice before each game. $135
Kindergarten Pinto Jr. 3 p.m. Sundays & 6 p.m. Wednesdays For Kinders with Tball experience.  4 innings. Two games per week. Coach pitch. For more information about our newest division, contact us at $165
1st & 2nd grade Pinto 6 p.m. Sunday / 6:30 p.m. Tues/Thurs Coach pitch. Players are taught the basic rules of baseball, fundamentals of throwing, fields, batting, base running and how to catch a ball. $165
3rd & 4th grade Mustang 6:30 p.m. Monday / Wednesday / Friday Players learn to pitch to the opposing batters. Player pitch only. Baseball fundamentals are taught. Stealing bases and bunting are introduced at this level.


5th & 6th grade Bronco 6 p.m. Sunday / 6:30 p.m. Tues/Thurs Players advance to a larger diamond. Advanced fundamentals are introduced. $165
7th-12th Pony, Colt, and Palomino Varies

The season for older middle and high school players starts in June. Registration for those divisions is included with our Spring season registration.

Divisions are assigned by grade

* Divisions are assigned by grade.  Any parent who desires an exception to the defined age breakdown, i.e., who wishes to move a child “up” or “down”,  must submit a written request to the BBL President (c/o, explaining his or her reasons at least one week before team assignments are made.

However, it should be understood that such exceptions will be granted only when the BBL Board of Directors are absolutely certain that the best interests of the child will be served, rather than merely the convenience or ambitions of the parent. Any player moved down will not be eligible to pitch in regular season games or playoff games.

For Summer 2020, these requests must be received by June 10, 2020.  Please remember that for summer, grades are combined, so a request to play-up a first grader, for example, means that player would be playing with 4th graders.  To request an exception, please complete the registration process based on your child's actual grade while also submitting a request and we will be in touch with you regarding next steps. Do not register for the grade you are requesting as a play-up as all requests must be evaluated first.

Game Days & Practices

** Game days are provided for general planning purposes, but may vary slightly to accommodate a variety of factors including field availability and weather.  We schedule 8 games for the Shetland division and 10 games for all other divisions for approximately two games/week.

In addition to games, teams may select a standing practice time on Saturday or Sunday.
